What are Goodwill’s donation hours? Donation hours may vary by location. Select a location on the interactive map above or visit its individual location page to confirm current hours before arriving.
What items can I donate to Goodwill? Goodwill accepts many gently used items, including clothing, shoes, furniture, books, toys, accessories, linens, housewares, home goods and small working appliances. Items should be clean, safe and in suitable condition for resale.
Does Goodwill accept furniture? Yes, Goodwill accepts many furniture items that are clean, safe and in usable condition. Because acceptance can depend on the type, condition and size of the item, contact your nearest donation center before bringing especially large furniture.
What items can Goodwill not accept? Goodwill cannot accept mattresses or box springs, automotive hazardous waste, tires, firearms, explosive materials, paint, pesticides or other unsafe household chemicals. Please review the complete donation guidelines or contact your nearest location when you are unsure about an item.
Can Goodwill pick up my donation? Youngstown Area Goodwill partners with ReSupply to provide fee-based home pickup for furniture and other large or bulky donations. ReSupply can remove items from inside your home and deliver them to a local Goodwill donation center.
Can I get a receipt for my donation? Yes. Donation receipts are available at each Goodwill donation center. You can also download a receipt from the Youngstown Area Goodwill website. Donations may be tax-deductible, but you should consult a tax professional regarding your individual deduction.
What happens to the items I donate? Donated items are processed and sold through Goodwill stores. The revenue helps support education, job training, employment services and opportunities for people in our local communities.
