What Items Can I Donate to Goodwill?
Wondering what you can donate to Goodwill? Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries accepts many gently used items, including clothing, shoes, furniture, books, toys, accessories, small appliances, linens, housewares, and home goods.

When you donate items you no longer need, you help fund job training, job placement, education, and employment services for people right here in Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
Whether you are cleaning out a closet, downsizing, moving, or simply making room at home, your donated goods help create opportunity in our local community.
How to Donate to Goodwill
Donating to Goodwill is easy. Simply arrive at the donation area of any Youngstown Area Goodwill store and leave your gently used items with one of our donation attendants.

Need items picked up from your home or help moving furniture you would like to donate? Our partners at ReSupply can help remove items from your home and deliver them to Goodwill on your behalf.
Items Goodwill Needs Most
Your gently used donations help stock Goodwill stores and support local programs. Items we need most include:
Clothing & Shoes
Donate gently used clothing, coats, jackets, shoes, boots, and seasonal apparel.
Furniture
Goodwill accepts many furniture items in usable condition. Please make sure furniture is clean, safe, and ready for resale.
Linens & Household Textiles
Donate sheets, blankets, towels, curtains, table linens, and other gently used household textiles.
Jewelry & Accessories
Goodwill accepts jewelry, purses, belts, scarves, wallets, bags, and other accessories.
Toys, Books & Media
Donate toys, children’s items, books, DVDs, games, puzzles, and other gently used media.
Housewares & Home Goods
Goodwill accepts many household items, including kitchenware, dishes, pots, pans, home décor, silverware, utensils, and small household goods.
Small Appliances
Small working appliances such as toasters, blenders, coffee makers, and similar items may be accepted when they are clean and in good condition.
We are grateful for every donation, but there are certain items Goodwill is unable to accept.
Please do not leave these items at our donation centers, as Goodwill must cover the cost of properly disposing of items we cannot resell.
Goodwill cannot accept:

Mattresses or box springs, including waterbed mattresses and waterbed frames

Automotive hazardous waste, including tires, lead acid batteries, gasoline, oils, antifreeze, additives, and similar materials

Household chemical products, including pesticides, paint, paint thinner, drain cleaner, and other environmentally unsafe waste products
