Goodwill Announces Closure of Greenville, PA Location

1 min read

After careful consideration, Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries has made the difficult decision to close its Greenville, Pennsylvania store effective November 20, 2026.

The decision follows a review of the location's long-term viability as its lease approaches expiration. As an organization dedicated to serving communities throughout the region, Goodwill continually evaluates its operations to ensure it can effectively fulfill its mission and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those it serves.

"This was not an easy decision, but it was a responsible one," said Shelley Murray, CEO of Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries. "As the lease approached its end, we carefully evaluated the location and determined that continuing operations was no longer sustainable. By making this decision now, we can focus our resources where they will have the greatest impact on our mission, our employees, and the communities we serve."

Supporting Greenville Employees Through the Transition

Goodwill's immediate priority is supporting its Greenville team members through this change.

Helping individuals navigate employment opportunities is at the heart of Goodwill's mission, and that commitment extends to its own employees. The organization is working with affected team members to help them explore new opportunities and determine their next steps.

Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries extends its sincere gratitude to the Greenville employees, customers, donors, and community members who have supported the location over the years.

While this chapter in Greenville is coming to a close, Goodwill's commitment to the people and communities it serves remains unchanged.

Temporary Store Hours

Until its closure, the Greenville retail store and donation center will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday and closed Sunday-Monday.

I think the store in Greenville suffers greatly from the lack of a dressing room to try on purchases. Everytime I visit and find something I like, I am forced to leave it behind because I cannot try it on -- despite the fact that the location was once a clothing store and HAS dressing rooms.

I think this is a big mistake to close the doors in Greenville. This store is one of the nicest around the area! The Hermitage store is dirty and overpriced
