Goodwill to Open New Campbell Location on Sept. 3

Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries will open its newest retail location on Sept. 3 at the Campbell Health and Community Development Center (CHCDC), creating a convenient shopping destination while expanding workforce development opportunities for local students.

The new store (444 Struthers Coitsville Road) is the result of a partnership between Goodwill, the Campbell City School District, and community stakeholders committed to preparing students for future careers through hands-on learning experiences.

Students from Campbell Memorial High School and the Northeast Ohio Impact Academy will play an active role in store operations, gaining real-world experience in areas such as sales, retail management, marketing, advertising, customer service, and inventory control. The opportunity aligns directly with the district’s commitment to workforce development and career readiness, allowing students to apply classroom concepts in a professional business environment.

“This new location is about more than a store,” said Goodwill CEO Dr. Shelley Murray. “It’s about investing in our community and creating meaningful opportunities for young people to develop valuable workplace skills while supporting Goodwill’s mission.

“We’re also committed to supporting workforce development across the broader community. While students are an important part of that effort, our programs are designed to benefit individuals of all ages by providing employment opportunities, job training, and the resources people need to build brighter futures.”

The CHCDC, made possible through secured grant funding and a strong network of school-based health, workforce development and community partnerships, is designed to provide vital resources to families across Mahoning County.

The store will offer shoppers a variety of affordable clothing, accessories, and other merchandise. Revenue generated through Goodwill retail operations, which is more than 85 cents per dollar spent, helps fund employment, training, and support services for individuals throughout the Mahoning Valley.

The Campbell location will initially be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., though operating hours may be adjusted in the coming months based on community needs and store operations.

In addition to the retail store, Goodwill will host a monthly donation drive on the first Saturday of every month at the CHCDC. A Goodwill donation truck will be on-site to collect gently used clothing, household items, electronics and other accepted donations. The first donation drive is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 5.

A grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 3, bringing together community leaders, educators, students, and supporters to celebrate the partnership and its impact on the Campbell community.
